I’m just your average working parent who took the leap from employee to entrepreneur. I had a vision for something better—something more flexible. I wanted to design a life where I could enjoy what I love, spend time with the people who matter most, and finally slow down—all while still having a fulfilling career.
But deep down, I also wanted more. I wanted to be successful, to achieve something meaningful, and to prove—to the world and to myself—that I had what it takes. I wasn’t willing to settle. I knew there had to be a way to create a life that felt calm, empowering, and completely aligned with who I am.
From Survival Mode to Boss Mam Energy: Why I Chose to Build Something Bigger
I’ve always loved working and growing my career—but over time, something started to feel off. Despite my professional success, my health was suffering, and I was completely burnt out from juggling work, family, and the never-ending demands of daily life. The pace just wasn’t sustainable anymore.
I wanted to be that mam—the one who got up early instead of hitting snooze three times. The one who had time for a healthy breakfast, a quick workout, and even did her hair and makeup nicely instead of rushing out the door with the usual mam bun. The organised one who prepped school bags and lunches the night before and still managed to be fully present for her family without the overwhelm.
But the reality? I was constantly running late, shouting more than I wanted to admit, and always playing catch-up. I felt unorganised, endlessly stressed, and utterly exhausted. I was putting work ahead of my family, running on empty, and losing myself in the chaos. The balance I craved felt impossible—and my health was paying the price.
When I Decided to Make a Change
After nearly 12 years in my job, I finally realised that if I wanted to change my life, I had to take control. I wasn’t getting any younger—and neither were my children. Time felt like it was on fast-forward, and I could no longer ignore the need for more flexibility and a healthier work-life balance. I wanted to be more present for my children—and feel guilt-free about it.
That’s when I stumbled across affiliate marketing. I’d heard of it before, but I’d never really explored it. After a bit of digging, I came across some training that gave me the tools and confidence to take my first steps toward building an online business of my own.
I’ll be honest: I was unsure and a little skeptical at first (aren’t we all when something feels too good to be true?). But I pushed past the doubts—and I’m so glad I did. Looking back now, I only wish I’d started sooner.
How "Just Mam Life" Began
If I could excel in my career, why couldn’t I channel that same energy into building something I was genuinely passionate about?
So, I did exactly that. I started my own affiliate marketing business while putting my health and well-being first. Yes, I craved financial freedom—but more than that, I wanted to live life on my own terms.
I shifted my mindset, silenced the imposter syndrome, and took action.
In June 2024, I left my job—and it was the best decision I’ve ever made. Today, I’m building an online business I love, while creating a more balanced, fulfilling life—mentally, physically, and emotionally.
